Predicting workforce trends to attract industry
The economic growth of a region depends on the partnership between the private and public sectors. It is vital that the public sector fully understands the specific issues, demands and requirements which relate to its key industrial sectors.
In yorkshire and Humberside, we quantified the contribution that the construction industry made to the regional economy. This included determining its supply chain, mapping its workforce and their training requirements and identifying future demand for the industry’s outputs.
As a result of our research, the regional agencies have been able to plan for the long-term health of the construction industry, protecting the supply-base and ensuring relevant training is widely available, hence supporting further investment and growth in the region.
