With a very wide range of partners, both at a national, regional and local levels, we are able to draw on their specialist knowledge, skills and experience to make the most of opportunities for trying out new approaches, reaching all members of the population and creating the best opportunities for our customers.
Working with the public sector
East Surrey HELP (Housing & Employment Local Partnership) is an initiative between ourselves and four local boroughs. Our advisors are based within the councils’ housing department and work alongside housing officers. The projects aim is to support vulnerable adults who have housing issues as well as being typically unemployed. The project is finding that by providing a customer with a stable base and an address increases confidence and significantly improves their chances of success of finding employment.
“Taking a more holistic approach to housing advice by tackling the wider causes of housing need, such as unemployment and skills limitations, and providing employment and training advice, will help people to feel better informed and able to make the best choice for their individual circumstances.”
- Cllr Mike Miller, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council
